Modulator One is an experiment in collaboratively authoring a past moment, consisting of an interactive video work and multiple generative still images. Each image acts as a different recollection of the same moment under alternate conditions of lighting (enabled with new photographic technology called platelight).
The video is a record of a specific moment of creation which becomes mutable through your engagement. The still images are generated by an algorithm upon being collected, co-authored by unique information from the collector.
Set in the construction site of a domestic interior, I am using the house as a stage for shifting history and memory, where the past can be shaped into new stories, histories and identity. My goal with this project is to present a past moment and experience its changeability collaboratively.
To interact with the video, your click or touch on the image switches the light.
